Louis-Philippe made a return visit to Windsor in October 1844. Here Victoria, Albert, the Duchess of Kent and the guest of honour depart the castle for a drive in a charabanc (a present from the King). The Queen made several mentions of the public interest in Louis-Philippe in her journal, and Nash includes onlookers who line the path and perch on the mound of the Round Tower for a good view.
