Twelve historical rulers of Bavaria

These imaginary portraits of historical rulers from the thirteenth to the eighteenth century are reductions of the over-life-size figures made in 1842 for the Throne Room of the Residenz in Munich. Most of the colossal figures were destroyed in the Second World War. 

Purchased by Prince Albert and presented to Queen Victoria on her birthday, 24 May 1843
