Garter Day at Windsor Castle

The Most Noble Order of the Garter was founded by Edward III in 1348. The Queen is Sovereign of the Order and presides over the annual gathering of Garter Knights at Windsor Castle in June. After entertaining the members and officers of the Order at a luncheon in the Waterloo Chamber, The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh process on foot with other members of the Order through the Upper, Middle and Lower Wards of the Castle to St George’s Chapel, the spiritual home of the Order, where they attend a service of thanksgiving.

    The income from your ticket contributes directly to The Royal Collection Trust, a registered charity. The aims of The Royal Collection Trust are the care and conservation of the Royal Collection, and the promotion of access and enjoyment through exhibitions, publications, loans and educational activities.
