This large mirror was one of three supplied for the Prince and Princess of Wales’s State Apartments at Hampton Court Palace. Gumley’s name can be found on a strip of gilt-gesso on the right upright. The mirror would have been placed on the wall or pier between the two windows in the Drawing Room. Probably supplied for the Prince and Princess in 1715 Cat. 98
