    Windsor Castle: the Lantern Lobby, after restoration

    The 1992 fire burned through the ceiling of this space. The Restoration Committee chaired by Prince Philip decided that an oak framed lantern, inspired by Gothic vaulting seen in European cathedrals, would form a modern yet sympathetic replacement.
