The pair of silver-gilt centrepieces, were produced by the royal goldsmiths Rundell, Bridge and Rundell, at the workshop of Paul Storr. The firm was renowned for its interest in naturalistic forms, including the convolvulus flower sconces which were intended to hold candles. The centrepieces form part of the Grand Service and are still used during state banquets today.
