Weeping cherry blossom branches against the Taihei-Kaku bridge

1925-29

gelatin silver print | RCIN 2862274

A close up study of weeping cherry blossom branches supported by a bamboo trellis in the grounds of the Heian shrine in Kyoto. Presented out of focus, the background splits in half horizontally. The upper part depicts the elegant Taihei-Kaku bridge, while the bottom part shows the bridge's reflection in the Seiho-ike pond. A mountain is only just visible in the distance.
