Vase and mount

A characteristic mix of exotic Chinese porcelain with high-quality French bronze mounts and an English carved giltwood stand, these two works of art are typical of the interiors at Carlton House. They traditionally stood in the bow window of the Rose Satin Drawing Room, surrounded by a mixture of genuine Chinese porcelain, European objects inspired by Chinese works of art and French neo-classical furniture.

Vase purchased in 1803; pedestal supplied c.1811
