Two heads

RCIN 907200

The heads are studies for the Virgin and a page in Sebastiano's painting of the Adoration of the Magi. Sebastiano must have studied the drawings in coloured chalks on blue paper of his sixteenth-century Venetian predecessors, especially Paolo Veronese (1528-88) and Jacopo Bassano (c. 1510-92).
