MARCO RICCI (BELLUNO 1676-VENICE 1730)
A landscape with a stream and cattle herd
c.1723-30RCIN 830326
Marco Ricci’s etchings follow the conventions adopted by most artists in the period, shaded with hatched parallel lines but little cross-hatching, and with sinuous individual lines to represent the reeds of the thatched roof or the eddy of water in the stream as well as for tonal shading in the sky.
