  • A full-bound sketchbook in dark blue leather, with gold tooling and embossed round edges. A pencil holder is attached to the top of the front board and a metal clasp secures the open edge of the binding. A pocket is attached to the back board with a paint palette inside. Contains 19 drawings by Queen Alexandra.
    A label is attached to the inside of the front board, inscribed: CHARLES ROBERSON & CO.S COMBINATION Pocket Sketch Book & Palette, Including COLOURS, BRUSH AND PENCIL, in the most convenient and portable form, particularly adapted for tourists.     As a girl, Princess Alexandra had a particular talent for painting and drawing and continued to receive art lessons in England after her marriage in 1863. Among the watercolours in the book are views on the Balmoral Estate in Scotland.
