A watercolour showing Rosneath in Argyll, Scotland, from the River Clyde. A partial view of a building can be seen trough trees. Inscribed below: Roseneath [sic] on the Clyde. Inscribed lower right: VR del. on board the V&A. Aug: 13 - 1849. Queen Victoria made her first visit to Ireland in August 1849. She sailed up the east coast of Ireland before sailing across to Scotland, and down the River Clyde to Glasgow on the Royal Yacht, Victoria & Albert.
