A watercolour showing a view of the Cornish Coast. The sea is shown in the foreground, with a headland and islet shown behind. A small sailing boat is shown in the gap between the shore and islet. Inscribed below: Brisons Cornwall - VR del on board the V. & A. under Weigh. Sept: 5. 1846. On 2 September 1846, Queen Victoria sailed from Osborne House to Jersey with her husband, Prince Albert and some of their children. The Royal family anchored off the island until the evening of 4 September 1846 when they sailed on to Cornwall, anchoring at Falmouth Harbour before sailing along the Cornish coast the next day.
