A watercolour showing a view of Loch Ordie. Continued on RCIN 980040.am verso. The loch is shown in the foreground, with forest shown along the far shore. Highland hills are shown in the background. Inscribed below mounted sheet: Loch Ordie near Dunkeld Oct: 12. 1866 [a mistake, she means 1865]. Queen Victoria visited Loch Ordie on 12 October 1865 while staying as a guest of the Duchess of Atholl at Dunkeld. Queen Victoria stayed at Dunkeld from 9 to 13 October 1865. She stayed again from 1 to 6 Oct 1866. This sketchbook has been mounted and rebound and Queen Victoria must have confused the two visits when she wrote the new inscriptions on the folios.
