While staying at Balmoral, Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 10 June 1867, the Queen rode to the Colonel's Bed with her two daughters, Princess Helena and Princess Louise, and her son-in-law Prince Christian of Schleswig-Holstein.
