A watercolour showing Loch Builg. The loch is shown to the lower left and is surrounded by steep hills. Inscribed below pasted down sheet: Loch Bulig - Oct: 9 1866. While staying at Balmoral, Queen Victoria made many expeditions to local beauty spots. On 9 October 1866, the Queen drove to Loch Builg with her Ladies in Waiting. Queen Victoria records the visit in her journal entry of that day, describing how, at the loch, "we lunched & I sketched, It was most beautiful".
