Vicky del. Verso: a pencil drawing showing studies of Gothic-style windows. From 22 September to 17 October 1860, Queen Victoria and Prince Albert travelled to Germany with their second daughter Princess Alice to visit their married daughter Victoria, Princess Royal. On 6 October 1860, they visited Mönchräden with their married daughter Victoria, Princess Royal. Queen Victoria records the visit in her journal entry of that day, describing how after watching the men hunt boars, "We lunched close to a picturesque little shooting house...Afterwards we walked up a charming path through the wood...where we had a splendid view".
