A watercolour showing a portrait of a North African boy. He is shown three-quarter-length, facing left with his face turned to the front over one shoulder. He is shown against a desert background. Inscribed lower right: VR & H [?E] Corbould del Osborne July 1864.
Edward Henry Corbould was Queen Victoria's drawing teacher from May 1852. He also occasionally instructed the Queen in painting. -
