During November and December 1961 The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh undertook a tour of West Africa. During their ten days in Ghana The Queen and The Duke visited the Central Region House of Chiefs on the Cape Coast, where they were presented with this magnificent carved and gilded wood model of a Ghanaian Royal Procession with a Chief in a sedan chair accompanied by twelve minions carrying the chair and playing the drums.
