John Buckler was a topographical artist and architect who produced many watercolours of churches and cathedrals. His son, John Chessel Buckler, also worked as a topographical draughtsman. This drawing is one of seven watercolours of various castle and estates made between 1808 and 1822, some of which are signed J. C. Buckler.Provenance
