A watercolour showing a view from the central crossing in the Parc du Bruxelles, looking towards the Palais de la Nation (constructed between 1779 and 1883), with sculptured groups and figures. Signed and dated 'T Boys 1850'. Inscribed on the mount in a later hand, in relation to the Queen's first visit to Brussels, '18 September 1843'.
Provenance
From Queen Victoria's Souvenir Album, volume I, folio 57. Added later to this album, in which the other drawings date from 1839-43. Perhaps given to the Queen by Queen Louise of the Belgians.
