A watercolour showing the interior of the bedroom at Buckingham Palace, prepared for the Empress Eugénie. Signed and dated.
Several pieces of furniture represented in this watercolour are still in the Royal Collection: the bed is RCIN 497; the sculpted cherubs at the corners of the bed are RCIN 8741; the oval backed side chair is one of a a set, RCIN 445; the armchairs on the right are RCINs 442.1 and RCIN 442.2; the dressing table is RCIN 391; the pink porcelain vase on the mantlepiece is one of a set, RCIN 36100; the candelabra on the mantlepiece is one of a set, either RCIN 35265, or RCIN 36128. The view on the right, through to the dressing room prepared for Empress Eugenie, reveals a cheval mirror which is also still in the Royal Collection, RCIN 341.Provenance
