Balmoral: the Queen's Dressing Room dated 1857
Watercolour and bodycolour | 26.7 x 36.8 cm (sheet of paper) | RCIN 919479
-
The Queen’s Dressing Room at Balmoral was, like the rest of the house, decorated with a Highland theme. The carpet is a Hunting Stewart, and a specially commissioned ‘Balmoral’ tartan, designed by the royal couple, was used for the table cloth. Prints after paintings by Landseer and Winterhalter decorated the walls.
