A photograph of King George V’s Audience Chamber at Buckingham Palace, in an album dated 1914, shows that this miniature frame with a photograph of Queen Mary was kept on the King’s desk. The frame contains a photograph taken in 1897 when she was Duchess of York. The frame is of yellow and red gold with laurel leaves around the bezel and the edge of the frame, containing a panel of red guilloché enamel. It is backed with ivory and fitted with a gold strut.
