A watercolour drawing of Windsor Castle, seen from the north. The North Terrace and Round Tower are seen from across the Little Park. Trees and fields in the foreground, with the River Thames on the far right. A figure on horseback, accompanied by a second horse, is on the towpath. More figures further back. In a yellow, black and grey wash-line bordered mount of a type associated with works from the collection of Sir Joseph Banks. Sandby made several distant views of the Castle in this format. The Little Park is today known as the Home Park. The Round Tower was doubled in height in the 1820s, as part of Sir Jeffry Wyatville’s work for George IV.
