A large watercolour showing the aftermath of the explosion of the ship the 'Delfs Welvaaren', which was carrying 10,000lbs of gunpowder, and which exploded in Leiden on 12 January 1807. An inscription suggests the artist made this painting a day after the disaster. Signed and dated 'Jan Anthony Langendyk dessiné sur le lieu le 13 Janvier 1807'.
