A pencil and watercolour drawing of a group of figures in discussion with the Duke of Cumberland. Horses and riders in background. The groups are numbered below in pencil from A to D. Mounted together with RCINs 914348-914353, and inscribed below on the modern mount, 'A. Duke of Cumberland. C. Sir Thos Rich. B. Ld Albemarle D. Thos Sandby'. These figures, and those of RCIN 914351 appear in a watercolour of Cumberland Lodge (RCIN 914628). George Keppel, 3rd Earl of Albemarle (1724-1772) was Lord of the Bedchamber to the Duke of Cumberland, K.G., 1765, installed 1771. Sir Thomas Rich of Sonning, who succeeded to the baronetcy in 1762, was an admiral and MP for Great Marlow, 1784-1790. Sir Robert Rich of Roos Hall, 5th Baronet (1717-1785) succeeded to the baronetcy in 1768. He also appears in RCIN 914688.
