A grey wash drawing after a painting by Titian showing the Virgin and Child with St Luke and a Genoese nobleman. Inscribed: Tissano invt; 1639 P. Olivier fe.
The Titian painting was in the collection of Charles I and is now at Hampton Court (RCIN 406070). Oliver also made a 'cabinet miniature' copy of Titian's The Rest on the Flight into Egypt, which was also owned by Charles I. This miniature appeared at Sotheby's, 8 July 2015, lot 211. -
