A watercolour of a pug and her puppies. Signed and dated. The dogs are shown in the Kennels at Windsor. The puppies were called Mops, Fanny, Mishka and Rose. Barber, an animal and sporting painter, enjoyed Queen Victoria's patronage, and she remarked upon his death that he "had such talent & did so many things for me" (Journal, 28 November 1894).
Provenance
Presumably one of the "watercolour drawings of dogs" for which Barber was paid £26 16s on 1 November 1880
