A drawing of a marsh marigold, with three flowers upon a stalk with broad leaves. To the right is a wood anemone, with one flower. Leonardo depicts the plants with great clarity presenting them as three separate (though overlapping) specimens, angled to show the precise forms of the flowers and leaves to best advantage.
