A drawing of an invented view, known as a capriccio. In the centre is a small house with a balcony and a fountain. A woman is shown going to collect water from the fountain. Next to the house is a column surmounted by a statue of an angel. The right hand side of the composition is dominated by a large arch. There is a doorway and window built into the arch. A lantern hangs from the arch, and two figures are shown on top of it. The scene is enclosed within a ruled ink border line.
