Rectangular gold frame with foliate scrolled top and an oval, diamond framed reserve containing miniature; head and neck, in the uniform of a colonel in the 1st Banff Volunteer Artillery Corps with the badge of the Royal Victorian Order and the Royal Victorian Chain framed in a rectangular two-colour gold frame mounted with diamonds with pierced-scroll crest, guilloché enamel and strut in the form of a monogrammed double F, gold marks for Paris 1847 – 1919, maker's mark H.A. (possibly Henri Auguste).
