An engraving after the so-called Madonna della Seggiola, a circular painting by Raphael (c.1514) now in the Galleria Palatina, Palazzo Pitti, Florence (inv. no.151). State before all letters. The engraver's name is annotated in pencil at lower centre. Not listed in Ruland’s Raphael Collection catalogue (1876).
Showing the Virgin seated in a chair, holding the Christ Child on her knees and embracing Him with both arms while looking at the beholder, with the Infant Baptist standing behind at right and looking up with clasped hands.Provenance
