An engraving after the the so-called Mackintosh Madonna, a painting by Raphael (c.1509-11) now in the National Gallery, London (inv. no.NG 2069). Lettered with production details. With the publisher’s blind stamp in lower left corner of the chine collé paper (not in Lugt, but associated with Lugt 1875).
Showing the half-length seated figure of the Virgin supporting the Christ Child with both hands, who stands on a parapet while putting His arms around His mother’s neck and looking to the left; in a landscape.Provenance
