A lithograph by Hermann Raunheim reproducing Delaroche's now lost painting of St Amelia, Queen of Hungary. Lettered below the image with title, publication details and attribution of the design to Delaroche. Also lettered with the following inscription: 'Lithographié de la même grandeur, d'apres le tableau original appartenant à S.M. la Reine des Français.' Publisher's blind stamp at lower left. Laid down on a thick paper mount, which is lettered with the addresses of publishers in London, Paris and Berlin.
Delaroche's painting, exhibited at the Salon of 1834, was commissioned by Queen Marie-Amélie in 1831 and reproduced as the main panel in a stained-glass window in the private chapel at the Château d'Eu, Normandy, home of the Orléans family.Provenance
