A hand-coloured print of a clergyman asleep at a table. His hands are crossed over his ample girth and his left foot is bandaged from gout. Across the table is seated a slim, bespectacled clerk, earnestly reading from a paper that he holds in both hands, apparently unaware that his companion has fallen asleep. Two candlesticks on the table. An uncoloured impression of RCIN 810981, without publisher's address. Another version of this print exists as BM Satires 6721 & 6130 Inscribed in the plate: London Pub by Wm Holland , No 50 Oxford Street
