A hand-coloured print of Charles Fox and his main supporter, the Duchess of Devonshire, canvassing for votes at a cobbler's shop. The Duchess sits on the knee of Fox with her left leg raised so that her shoe can be repaired by the cobbler whilst she drops money into the hands of the cobbler's wife. In the background, Samuel House tempts another potential supporter with a free pot of ale. Chimney sweeps stand in the background. The date given in manuscript date, 10 May 1784, is incorrect.
