A print showing Blücher and Wellington. The end of the Battle of Waterloo was marked by the meeting of Blücher and Wellington in front of the farmhouse of La Belle Alliance at around 9pm. This romanticised image shows Wellington gesturing towards the retreating French troops. At the meeting, it was decided that Blücher's men would pursue the French. They were able to capture Napoleon's carriage, but not Napoleon himself.
