An etching of a vase in the gardens at Hampton Court. Lettered below: John Vardy Delin:et Sculpt. 1749. The marble vase is one of two urns commissioned for the gardens in 1690. This vase shows the Triumph of Bacchus and was carved by Caius Gabriel Cibber (1630-1700). The relief shows Bacchus in a chariot drawn by lions, holding up a bunch of grapes. The second vase was by Edward Pearce (c. 1635-95) with a relief of Amphitrite and the Nereids.
