Asiatic kris with ivory bird-shaped handle with gold scallopped ferule overlaid with filigree and set with diamonds. Wavy watered steel blade. Hardwood sheath encased in gold with embossed foliate borders, part-bound with silk cord. Wire loop with gold end, set with diamonds.
The gold loop on the scabbard, called a toli-toli, can be found on many high-quality kris from Sumatra and Sulawesi. The fine ivory carving of the hilt is associated with Palembang in Sumatra.
