An engraving of Louis XVI, King of France. Whole length with a curled wig, a frilled tie, embroidered robes, an ermine mantle, and with the Collar of the Order of the Holy Spirit. The King is pictured standing, holding a plumed hat in his right hand and with a sceptre in his left hand, with an ornate armchair to the right and with a crown to the left, with columns and drapery behind. With a French inscription below. Cut down.
The print describes the king as 'victim' and probably dates from around the time of his imprisonment in 1792 and execution in 1793.Provenance
