Engraving of George II, Landgrave of Hesse-Darmstadt and Sophia Eleonora of Saxony, Landgravine of Hesse-Darmstadt. Whole length figures: George II with long hair, lace collar, armour and mantle, is pictured standing with right hand holding a cane and with left hand resting on a plumed helmet on a table to the right. Opposite the figure of the Landgrave is pictured his consort, Sophia Eleonora of Saxony, with jewelled hair in ringlets, pearl necklace and gown. The Landgrave and Landgravine are pictured standing with columns and drapery behind. With Latin inscription on cartouche below. A plate from Johann Tacke's Unverweslicher Ceder-Baum : zu ewigem Andencken und Namens Unsterblichkeit des durchleuchtigsten Fursten und Herrn, Herrn Georgen des Andern, Landgraffens zu Hessen (1666).
