An etching with hand-colouring of Edmund Crouchback, Earl of Leicester & Lancaster. View of the effigy of Prince Edmund, from the tomb at Westminster Abbey. Whole length, with armour and surcoat and with hands raised in prayer. With hand-coloured sample of decoration to the right. With English inscription, including publisher's address, 'London Published as the Act directs, Aug. 1st. 1814 by C. A. Stothard Junr. 28 Newman Street Oxford Street.' Plate from Charles Alfred Stothard's The Monumental Effigies of Great Britain, which he worked on from 1811 until his death in 1821. Stothard originally published etchings of his plates serially, and following his death in 1821 his widow Anna Eliza Bray, re-issued the plates as a full volume in 1832.
