A set of three large porcelain tureens with covers and stands; the tureens oval in shape with scrolled handles,the covers with a parcel gilt pineapple and serrated foliate and the stands with two flaring handles, the white ground and gilded rims decorated overall with a combination of stylised reserves containing stylised oriental decoration and landscapes with figures.
Provenance
Part of a dinner service, known as the Harlequin Service, commissioned by George IV when Prince of Wales, 1807. Part delivered in 1811 and finally in October 1816. The total order invoiced at more than £4,000.
