Two silver-gilt bread baskets, each in the form of a scallop shell with a flying scroll handle cast as a female term figure, on three cast dolphin feet. The rim is pierced with a band of scrolls within a border of cast shells and seaweed. The handle is engraved with a crown, Garter and Royal crest.
Provenance
One of this pair of baskets dates from 1751/2. It was copied by Rundell, Bridge & Rundell in 1819 for George IV, when Prince Regent, and the pair were purchased for £102 9s 8d.
