The original breakfast service was commissioned by George III and Queen Charlotte during their visit to the Flight Worcester factory, 1788, following which the Blue Lily pattern was renamed Royal Lily. The design continued to be sold commercially and further pieces were added to the service by a generous donation, 1977.
