8-pointed pierced & faceted silver star; centre: Arabic inscription as badge above crescent, gold on red, surr by green border; R/: replacement pin, original 2 pins broken off.
In his journal for 25 May 1862 the Prince of Wales (later King Edward VII) wrote, 'At 10 o'clock Ali Pasha came to the embassy and presented me with the Turkish Decoration of the service in the name of the Sultan, which he has conferred upon me.'Provenance
