Hugh Ferdinand, Count of Mensdorff-Pouilly (1806-47), was the eldest son of Emmanuel, Count of Mensdorff-Pouilly. He is wearing Hussar uniform and a sword belt with his regimental badge.
This is one of four portraits of Hugh Ferdinand and his brothers (RCIN 420792, 420794, 420795, 420798), all painted by the same artist about 1825-6. The identity of the artist is unknown.
