Moses, a bay horse ridden by Thomas Goodisson is seen passing the post a head clear of Figaro, followed by the rest of the field; beyond, crowds of spectators cheer from behind the rails, from the covered stand and the marquees at Epsom. This painting has recently be identified as the work of John Sinclair, a forger who for the period 1900 to 1912 worked at the picture restorers, Izod and Co at 220 Great Portland Street.
