Queen Victoria’s eldest daughter married the Crown Prince of Prussia in 1858 and Prince Henry (1862-1929) was her third child and Queen Victoria’s grandson. Signed: VICTORIA. Inscribed on the back with the name of the sitter and as painted by his mother at Misdroy in August 1867, at the time of the Prince’s fifth birthday.

Given to Queen Victoria by Victoria, Crown Princess of Prussia in 1867; recorded hanging in the Queen's Dressing Room (Room no 213) at Windsor Castle in 1878
